Service Opportunities

Service is the Secret! Service Opportunities start in the home group:

  • Attend your home group business meeting and get connected.
  • Become a greeter, a coffee maker, secretary, treasurer.
  • Come to a District 15 Business Meeting

Grapevine Representative (GvR)

At the home group level, the GvR helps to carry the A.A. message by making copies of the monthly Grapevine available and displayed at meetings and by making subscription information available. The District Grapevine Rep provides support and communication for the home group GVRs.

Grapevine Reps are volunteers elected to the position by your home group and by the District.

GvRs may register online, or by contacting the Grapevine office:

Cooperation with Correctional Facilities

A.A. meetings brought to the county jail can be a life saver for inmates. Become part of the District 15 Correctional Facilities team that takes A.A. meetings into the Clackamas County jail. The Corrections Committee meets once a quarter (check the calendar to see when the next one is, usually in January, April, July, and November).

The Men's or Women's Corrections Chair can help you complete the paperwork necessary for clearance to enter the jail.  Read, "How to Get Into The County Jail" for information on how to sign up and the forms to fill out.  Taking meetings into the jail is a powerful way to give back to our friends behind bars.

Cooperation with Treatment Facilities

The District Cooperation with Treatment Facilities Committee is an important opportunity to help those realizing how the first step relates to them.  Volunteers rotate about every 4-6 weeks in sharing their experience, strength and hope with newcomers at local facilities.

Anyone interested in CTF service can contact one of our committee members via e-mail through this website.  CTF meets at 6:00 PM on the last Wednesday of every quarter (January, April, July, October), at Shari's Restaurant, 1926 McLoughlin Blvd., Oregon City, OR (Jct 99E/I-205).  Email us if you have any questions.
